He’s enabled this collapse of Democracy for decades. I doubt these people have any ability to conduct introspection regarding how they willingly supported all of this (and continue to do so in many ways).

One wonders if Repubs like Frum, Cheney, Bush, et al. will ever realize they had a major hand in creating this nightmare scenario, with decades of vile policies. I welcome them to the side of relative sanity now, but it’s beyond time for real self-reflection and blunt acknowledgement of their role.

We’re not living in a functioning democracy any longer. We’ve been lurching in this direction for 45 years at least, but we’ve now fully crossed over the line. And man, it blows. I also recognize it’s been this way for people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, et al. as a permanent state of affairs.

Some schools are great, and teach this stuff. Many utterly fail. And that failure is society’s — society at large has failed to prioritize teaching media and internet literacy, among so many other failures.
