Idk haha that’s what I meant by, “it isn’t very practical.”

Yeah… but I guess it doesn’t support video out? That’s why they went through all the trouble of flipping it. I think a little dongle would work just as well though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah it’s weird… like you look back and even many SNES games were $70+… which is $150 in today’s dollars… but I know a lot of that cost was the price of the hardware passed on to consumers.

We all made those bad decisions. I traded in my entire SNES collection (with a bunch of ROGs) for an N64 and Starfox 64. 😫

AVP and Tempest 2000 were almost worth the price of admission alone!

Those are still worth playing, especially the TG-16! I didn’t play a Jaguar until fairly recently. Interesting console, I kinda wish it was more successful, I think it was more unique than what the competition was offering.

In the mid-90s everyone was throwing their hat into the home console market… most of them quickly fizzled out, but Sony’s PlayStation ended up being the sole success of the newcomers.

3DO had a few decent games but they were all available or ported to more popular platforms afaik.

FWIW, I like to collect Saturn games but don’t even have a way to play the discs currently as the Fenrir is just so much more convenient.
January 12, 2026 at 6:21 PM
I mean, are any of these “best 3DO games” even exclusive to it?

It replaces the optical disc drive with an SD card reader, so you can just put roms on an SD card and play them as if they were original discs.
