'FuncoLand' is out NOW!

It's 2002. I'm 17.

In this 'Memories' episode, I take you back with me as I revisit those days, but also the experiences that'll stay with me for the rest of my life.

If you've ever caught yourself looking back fondlyβ€”This one's for you.

Yep. Bummed about the MP not being there, but I will play the hell out of the campaign!
Are you inferring that if someone enjoys video games that they don't go outside?

Because that would be silly.
I'd be very surprised if it didn't, I think the co-op would be pretty successful if they did!
I do think a lot of that reaction is overblown, personally. Fandoms are gonna complain about every little thing. I will wait until the game actually comes out and try it for myself to judge it. I've played HALO enough to know pretty quickly if it'll be worthwhile.
I honestly think if fans will stop complaining so much and just give this remake a chance to actually come out and try it, we might actually get a resurgence for HALO. I hope for that, and I can't wait to try it for myself.
You realize some people are going to think you're being serious...
Sir... You and other gamers who have never played HALO before are in for an absolute TREAT.

There's a reason it was such a big deal for so long. For some of us, HALO games were the staple. Both HALO 2 and 3 releases were full-on EVENTS.

It was all lightning in a bottle. And now you get to hold it.
Never owned an Xbox, grew up on PlayStation, so tell me and I’m genuinely curious: why is Halo so good, why has the series endured, and should I play it when it comes to PS5 next year?
with friends on couches playing 2 v 2 matches, or LAN parties with teams slayer, objective, etc. The maps were incredible and the fun factor was unmatched. HALO was THE series for many of us from 2001 - 2011 ish. Getting to jump in at the start of Chief's story is going to be special for you. (3/3)
It was all so interesting and fun. The story got its hooks in you and once Halo 2 and then 3 came we were just overflowing with more lore to digest.

BUT, the real meat and potatoes was the co-op & multiplayer. Halo introduced some of the best competitive multiplayer EVER. I spent many nights (2/3)
I will try my best to condense this. HALO has a unique history. It was the original XBOX's "killer app" and it was synonymous with it for many years. The fast and fluid FPS on console was beyond anything we'd had yet. The action, the lore, the world-building, Master Chief himself, etc. (1/3)

Not really goofy necessarily, it's got moments like that, but it also has some really awesome more intense episodes too. It was made in the 60s, so it has a little bit of that era style. TNG gets much more serious in tone later in season 1 and into season 2.
Personally, I'm a TNG guy. I always tell people to watch the first season knowing that it's a bit goofy and inconsistent (they were still kind of trying to be more like the original series back then), but as a lead in to season 2 where it really finds its footing.
And everyone collectively shouted "This is not surprising!"
Maybe I'll start there then, sounds fun!
That's still impressive! SM64 is one of my all-time favs but I have never tried speedrunning it myself! Are you going for another record also?
I hope you hummed to match the resonance frequency of each blowout also.
Did you have a vent fan or did you hotbox yourself?
Looks like a lot of amazing games in here, Mark!

Sometimes I think about how there are physical carts/discs I own that used to be special to someone else.

Maybe one was someone's favorite gift, or a rental that made their weekend, or even a game that was adored by someone who has since passed away.

Those moments are all still in there somewhere.

'Super Mario Odyssey' is also celebrating a birthday today..

It's eight years old as of today, October 27th.

...EIGHT YEARS? πŸ₯²
Master Chief would have literally slapped a Plasma Grenade into Trump's face the exact moment he realized who he was.
This won't stop your stores from closing.
