Trump is moving toward full authoritarian control much more quickly than the public (or the media) seems to recognize. If you read any history book, keeping your head down and pretending this won’t affect you doesn’t work. It’s time to get off the sofa and into the street.
Now or never folks.

We do not and have never had an immigration "problem" or an immigration "crisis" in this country. We do, however, have a xenophobia and racism problem, and it's getting worse.

one of the fun parts of being queer is that there are so many pieces of media that speak to me on an intrinsic level that are genuinely impossible to explain to anyone who doesn't get it

the most important part about being a trans woman is internalizing the fact that your existence is a gift to the world, your presence is a blessing on those around you, and you will become perfect at anything you set out to do.

I had the same experience when starting Estrogen.
The same day, a non-stop feeling of buzzing anxiety just vanished. I have never felt so at peace.
I will never go back to suffering as I did before.

It also answered a question that I'd been trying to answer for almost 40 years--what is wrong with me? I felt broken and wrong for so long. Like the world was constantly 2 inches misaligned. I was an alien on the wrong planet.
HRT fixed that.

For me, it... took away a film over my perception I didn't know was there. I'm more fully myself. More mindful. The world is no longer something that happens to me, I am something that happens to the world.

I see it. I have lived it. 83 years ago, the U.S. government turned upon a group of its own citizens and residents and sent them to internment camps without due process. I was there among them. American fascism is back. It is here. It is now.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

There is no treatment for gender dysphoria other than transition.
Trust me, I tried all of the experimental ones. I loved my family and my girlfriend, and didn’t want to lose them.
But at the end of the day I couldn’t keep living as a shell. I had to be a person.

I knew since I was fucking 15 but I never felt comfortable enough or safe enough to do anything about it because I was so alone. Some of us need a nudge and also some safety social net, not vagueness dressed as progressivism but devoid of material reality.
random thought: i've expressed my distaste for the egg prime directive and for the term "valid" before, but part of it is that there are a lot of trans people struggling with their gender who need a little nudge instead of either wallowing in solitude or having their cope validated, so it angers me.
