Signs that spring is just around the corner
Little white crocus type flowers, I think maybe snow drops. I should have used the seek appto check but I was on a walk with a time limit so no time to linger and be scientific, just enougb time to stop and smell the roses so to speak even though they weren't roses and all I did was snap a photo, not kneel down amd smell them. I really do need to seek this one next time I go by. These little sprouts look like moss but are foliage on the weird shrub and they weren't there a couole of weeks ago. The shrub was there, the sprouts weren't. It felt like I was describing a nefarious shrub that snuck into the park in the last couple of weeks. Which would have been cool but that's not what happenned. * this may also have been a small tree, I'm no botanist as you can tell.

Here is another of the pop figures @immcarvalho.bsky.social it reminds me of @opinionstogo.bsky.social . Can't you see Joanne with a wand, a wink and a smile figuring out exactly what everyone needs and making sure they get it? And of course making sure they were home for a reasonable bed time.
Pop figure of the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella. She is waving her wand and a wiggle of magic is shooting out of it. Other than the enormous head, she reminds me of our lovely Joanne. I thought that the moment my son gave it to me. He's 21 but Fairy Godmother is still one of his favourite characters to meet at Disneyland. She even tied his shoe for him once.

Last day of January so the last post of things I read in 2025. This was written by the same guy that wrote Last Unicorn which I confess I never read but I did see the movie as a child. This book is fun and a bit scary and a good time for almost any age.

Day 29 of things I read last year. Cozy small town, quirky and interfering supporting characters. Warm feels.
Book with a picture of a little cafe where you'd want to meet and have a scone and some tea. It is on a bookshelf with books behind it and one of Tinkerbelle's friends to the left. Tink is a tinkerfairy which basically makes her a mechanic which means the original Peter Pan does her dirty but all that is outside the scope of this book as it is completely unrelated. Welcome to my brain.

Merida Funko Pop. She is holding her bow and there is a target. She is on abook shelf in front of a bunch of books. Scarlet from GI Joe Funko Pop. She has her ceossbow and is standing in front of a shelf of BluRay/DVDs. Her heas is big and her feet are small so she has a stand. I would run home from school to make sure I could watch GI Joe as a kid. Flint was my favourite. He Man astride Battlecat (have you seen the new movie trailer) pop figure. SheRa can be seen to his right. He has his sword. Big OG He Man fan right here. He is on a shelf in our movie room that may or may not be holding a large variety of collectable figures from the 80s right up to last week. Classic Indiana Jones Pop figures on a wooden shelf that's part of an entertainment centre we made with a secret compartment for our PS3 games because you never know when there'll be a Skylanders moment.

27th day of what I read in 2025. This is the second in a world in which I'vre read all 3. Cozy fantasy is my happy place, or one of them anyway
Soft cover book with an orc, an ratkin and a little dog type thing with a bird head and a name I can't remember. They are in a bookstore. The book is on a bookshelf. You can see some of the year's other reads behind it and a Merida pop figure. Don't buy a pop figure. You can never stop at just one.

25th day of things I read last year. I loved these characters, small English village, dragons and ladies that don't follow direction well. Free content available trough a QR code at the back.
Two books. Manor of Life and Death and Game of Scones. One purple, one blue. My phone shadow due to poor photo skills and a Gubdam kit box in the background.

24th day of what I read last year. This is a reread. Pratchett may be my favourote author of all time. I've read all the discworld books and many of his other works. I can't decide if I want to be Sam Vimes or Granny Weatherwax when I grow up.
3 books on a charcoal coloured couch cushion that probably could use a proper clean since it's Ozzie's favourite spot to curl up. They are Guards! Guards! Men at Arms and Feet of Clay. All by Terry Pratchett. All covered in carton style artwork of fantasy characters getting up to shennanigans. Terry Pratchett was a genuis who understood people. All his characters are like you and me just trying to make sense of their journey through life, they just happen to have dragons and magic and such as they struggle through government red tape, scheming neighbours, etc.

Beautiful blue skies and our pond is almost frozen.
Big blue sky above trees and mountains. It's also eagle season around here but none can be seen in these photos. It is a nice day for tea and a fire on the patio, come on over. Eagle season is not a hunting season just when they all stop by the Metro Vancouver/Fraser Valley area to do their annual thing. They can be spotted by the dozens near rivers around here. Good time to be a bird watcher, bad time to be a rodent or fish. Our small pond frozen except where the fountain is fountaining. After another week hovering around 0C the fountain will freeze too. Spotted looking like small islands are the last of last summer's lily pads hanging on as long as possible.

23rd day of what I read last year. This one made me laugh out loud at the witch's interpretation of present day when she was accidentally thrown forward in time. Cute, cozy story with of fun
Purple dusk sky over a small cottage in a park setting. A place you'd want to go for tea, then again I'd like a cup of tea almost anywhere but especially here.

22nd day of what I read last year. Delightfully funny. Fairy godmothers getting away with things because they are Ladies of a Certain Age. Fun twist on the Frog Prince.

What I read last year volume 21. This was delightfully funny with a wonderful supporting cast. I read 5 of them. The others grew more serious and this first one is my favourite.

Day 17 of things I read last year. This was unique, not quite like anything I have read in the past but I liked it. I read a few books by Japanese authors this year and enjoyed them.

Day 16 of what I read last year (I know I should stick to the same explanation every day but I'm not) made me laugh out loud and made me think of Mid Century Modern on Disney+ since they're both comedies set in Palm Springs with strong gay male leads with found families & they make me laugh so hard

First in line is Guncle with a martini (I think that's what goes in that kind of a glass but I'm not much of a drinker so can't be sure) a small boy next in line, a girl reading after that and a dog bringing up the rear.

Ours finally bloomed. It is over 2' tall.
One of the big, red flowers. Looks like it's sticking its tongue out at you. Very vibrant red. Mildy demogorgonish in its shape. I think that's the name of the bad guys from Stranger Things. Makes me think of a ship's horn. 4 big, red flowers on a tall stem.

15th day of things I read last year. I loved these characters and of course I loved the baseball. The banter and the POV of the male MC cracked me up. When he deals out the Tshirts like cards 😍

Day 14 of things I read in 2025. Delightfully fun Mary Poppins for grown ups kind of tale. Fun characters, a dash of magic and a talking raven.
