Fall foliage is fleeting here- we only get a week or so before the wind and rain blow the leaves off, and a lot of beautiful color gets left on the ground.

She likes our big Pin Oak tree, i see her flitting around up in there all the time. We also have some big bushy Cypress trees, and she could get some good cover in there. Still, 8 DF is pretty cold, brrr... 🥶

I'm amazed they can survive it, but we usually have a few that winter over. We have harsh winters here, with snow and bitter cold temps. I keep a feeder up all winter, and change it out when it freezes, and a few of our neighbors do too. We found a dead one under a tree one year, frozen overnight.

The stubbornness runs deep in this one.
