Going to space makes him an astronaut

Also they did actual science

Going to space makes you an astronaut you know

The job isn't reserved for goverments
December 18, 2025 at 7:19 AM
Astronaut who isn't a government employee.

Apparently he payed for two spaceX missions where they tested new spacesuits and did other science experiments

anyway, I nominate "slop" to be the @merriam-webster.com word of the year

I hate it when people can have internet! CANCEL IT!!1!
October 14, 2025 at 6:32 AM
For people who need internet in remote locations
For the scientific research on ISS
For climatology satellites

Falcon 9 is currently the most efficient way to get on orbit, and it flies about twice a week

listen I don't like the guy for political reasons as well, but I can see that majority SpaceX contracts for Dragon, Falcon and Starshield (military starlink) are extremely successful, as opposed to Boeing Starliner, which cost NASA more than Dragon
June 20, 2025 at 5:45 AM
???

While NASA definitely had some requirements, the Dragon spacecraft (and Falcon 9 rocket it rides on) are designed and operated by SpaceX engineers (not musk personally of course)

Yes they got the HLS contract, which was quie a while ago, but not any more if i'm not mistaken

Reminder that the Crew Dragon has never failed and is reliably servicing the ISS
June 19, 2025 at 7:30 PM
In fact, NASA isn't paying any more money for Starship now.

The goverment is buying Falcon 9 flights, which are very reliable
June 19, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Can you please remind me of the Falcon 9 success rate?
Was it 99.39% or 99.77%?
June 19, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Did you know that Falcon 9 launches and lands perfectly fine about twice a week?

While the Honda rocket is nice, its toy-sized and for testing only (cannot go to orbit).
June 19, 2025 at 7:03 PM
NASA wasn't developing reusable heavy lift vehicles
June 19, 2025 at 6:57 PM
Vast majority of the contracts are for Falcon 9, which is very reliable. That's where SpaceX makes money.

NASA did pay to develop the Artemis lander (modified starship), but the whole Artemis program is fucked so idk

I don't think they can get contracts for starship until it's somewhat operational
June 19, 2025 at 6:54 PM
Falcon 9 is very successful, and it had problems during development too
June 19, 2025 at 6:45 PM
hardware as a service (HaaS) seems to be a great opportunity
