Proudly representing Denver in the U.S. House. Fighting for our environment, public lands & reproductive rights. Wife. Mom. Grandma. Dog lover.
Republicans claim to support an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy dominance, but are actively undercutting renewable energy sources.

The administration renamed the National Renewable Energy Lab to the National Lab of the Rockies because they want to erase the importance of renewables.

I had the honor of serving in Congress with @GabbyGiffords for 5 years before she was shot and almost killed 15 years ago today. Her spirit was unbreakable then, and it remains so now through @giffords_org.

I am proud to call Gabby my friend and to stand with her in the fight against gun violence.

This health care affordability crisis did not appear overnight.
Democrats sounded the alarm for a year.
Donald Trump and Republicans responded by passing their Big Bad Bill to kick 15 million people off their health care— all to fund billionaires’ tax breaks.
Remember who they chose.

Extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits is a short term fix to lower health care costs, and we're forcing a vote to do just that.

But I know that our health care system needs major reform. That’s why I have championed universal health care as the top Democrat on the Health Subcommittee.

Today, I stood with my colleagues in the House and Senate to mark the 5th anniversary of the January 6 insurrection and to thank the men and women of law enforcement who helped defend the Capitol that day.

I was in the gallery that day. I will never forget the terror I saw.

Five years ago today, Donald Trump incited a violent mob to storm the Capitol in an attempt to overturn a free and fair election — the most brazen attack on our own government by a sitting president in American history.

Happy New Year! Through this year’s ups and downs, I'm always grateful to represent our Denver community in Congress. In 2026, here’s to continuing to care for each other and making progress on our shared values.

As we honor the principles of Kwanzaa, let us reflect on the strength of family, community, and the shared values that guide us forward. Happy Kwanzaa, Denver!

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas. I hope today is filled with joy, family, and the Broncos beating the Chiefs.

House Democrats secured 218 signatures to force a vote on extending the ACA tax credits for 3 years.
We stood on the Capitol steps today with one message for Speaker Johnson: Bring this to the Floor immediately.
Instead, he sent Members home for the rest of the year. It is shameful.
December 18, 2025 at 11:59 PM
We could force a vote on an ACA extension if four Republicans found the will to sign Leader Jeffries' discharge petition.

Tonight marks the first night of Hanukkah. May these next eight nights be filled with peace, light, and joy. Chag Sameach!

I've NEVER traded individual stocks throughout my time in public office.
I signed the discharge petition to ban Congressional stock trading because public service isn't about profit. It's about trust. Speaker Johnson should bring this bill to the floor, and Donald Trump should sign it into law.

I have been saying for months that I would not support additional offensive weapon sales to Israel that could be used against innocent Palestinians.

That’s why I voted against the NDAA today.

This afternoon’s ceremony for Sen. Faith Winter was deeply touching. Faith led with courage and heart, always fighting for the people she served. Colorado won’t be the same without her, but her legacy will continue to light the way.

This administration’s anti-science agenda is going to get kids killed. The vote by members of ACIP to end the universal Hepatitis B vaccine birth dose recommendation for newborns is not supported by science and is incredibly reckless.

Trump promised lower energy bills on Day One.

316 days later, Republicans just blocked my amendment to guarantee exactly that.

Every single Republican voted NO.

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy Thanksgiving. I’m grateful to represent our community in Denver — one that comes together to feed those in need and support those who are vulnerable.
I hope today is full of restful time with friends, family, and good food.🥧

House Republicans just returned from a seven-week taxpayer-funded recess, and instead of doing anything to lower costs, they are wasting time and money on this pointless resolution.

Thanks to Donald Trump and RFK Jr., our ability to get new and innovative drugs approved has been significantly eroded.

Their assault on science is going to have lasting consequences on biomedical innovation. We were once the gold standard, but now they are throwing away our global leadership.

On Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor trans Americans whose lives have been lost to senseless acts of violence.

It’s on all of us to condemn hate against any American, regardless of their gender identity.
November 21, 2025 at 1:24 AM
RFK Jr. is lying to the American people. Vaccines don’t cause autism. Period. His lies are a threat to public health, and he should resign immediately.

I will continue to call out his blatant lies as Americans are losing faith in our government to provide trustworthy, science-based information.
November 20, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Donald Trump is now openly calling for the arrest and execution of democratically elected officials.

This is incredibly violent rhetoric that is going to jeopardize the safety of my colleagues.

Health care costs are going through the roof. Millions risk losing their health insurance. Americans are facing tough choices between paying for their prescriptions or feeding their families.

Rome is burning. So, House Republicans return after 7 weeks off to talk about showerheads?
