I cannot believe I am doing this, but actually, the Nazis persecuted Jewish scientists and rejected their discoveries as "Jüdische Physik" in contradistinction to proper "Deutsche Physik," and this did in fact hobble Nazi science. Even the history here is bunk!

This this this. I teach creative writing, which is *why* I’ve been talking about the news w/ my students. This is what we talk about when talk about cliche, the way it can collapse & erase meaning. Don’t just accept the words you’re given. Find the words you need.
Call it a purge, not a buyout. Call it a coup against Congress, not a spending pause. Call it censorship, not a review. Words matter, and we in the media have a chance to do better this time.
