I'm in favor of the form that restraint took traditionally: not electing people who come across as unscrupulous. Without this, after all, it doesn't necessarily matter what is or isn't in the constitution; as we're seeing now.
That said, I don't insist on it still being the President who decides.

I disagree, the penal system is crazy enough that there has to be a way to set people free without being able to state a reason.
I say that as someone who's been upset by some pardons issued by every president, and most pardons issued by this president.

you have helped build some people's idea of what it is to be trans, in at least one case before they knew it had any personal application to them. It's quintessentially your business, but I hope you may find later that you no longer regret having previously been more open about your gender identity.
