Literally the only people who care about this are not disabled and people who aren't disabled are the very very very last people who should ever be deciding anything for disabled people
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

America does not have capital punishment for selling or smuggling drugs and none of these people were arrested or tried. There could have been mountains of cocaine in open view on the deck of the boats and it still would have been murder of unarmed civilians.
Rand Paul just posted this letter from the Coast Guard confirming that 1/4 of the boats they stop carry no contraband. The likelihood that Hegseth & Bradley ordered the murder of innocent civilians is very high.

Districts 10 and 11 appear to *cross each other*, presumably one taking the upper deck of I-35 through Austin and the other the lower.
Have you seen the 2025 map that’s in the courts now? 11 stretches west to Midland!

BTW, if you're into Bolts' coverage of today's elections (which are still ongoing!), I would be remiss to remind you it's Giving Tuesday today, and Bolts is a nonprofit! Become a member :)
This fall, Bolts was an essential resource to help you track elections: Beyond headlines, we informed you of local contests all around.

2026 will be a far bigger year—and we’re determined to do the same.

Support us this Giving Tuesday, & help us prepare:
Support Bolts
We are a nonprofit publication that covers the nuts and bolts of political change, from the local up, and we need reader support to build our journalism.

I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

I want to make a comment on this: two TAs graded the paper, one cis, one trans. They agreed on the grade and the reasons. Based on OU’s press release, they have only suspended one of these TAs.

This isn't it. Mercy will never be a scandal.
If blowing up survivors in the water was the right thing to do because they are “narco-terrorists” (trust us, bro) and deserve no quarter, why did we rescue two other survivors in a different strike, fly them home, and let them go free?

We have a Hatch light for our 3yo to let him know what time it is; it's green when it's time to get out of bed in the morning.

This morning, via the monitor:

3yo: Mommy, it's green.

Me: Ok, honey, you can start your day.

3yo: I can't!!! [collapses into bed]

😅 ...I feel you, little dude.

After 404 Media's months-long reporting and pressure from lawmakers, the data broker owned by the U.S.’s major airlines will now shut down a program in which it sold access to hundreds of millions of flight records to the government and let agencies track peoples’ movements without a warrant.

Perfect gift for sci-fi film buffs. Tech Noir focuses on James Cameron's development as a visual artist, from childhood sketches to designs for Roger Corman to his own work as a Hollywood director. Huge book, BTW. You might even say it's...titanic. mzs.press/Tech-Noir-Th...

I think the term is "vice"
There has to be a term, concept for how the virtues of a free society fall apart in the face of nothing but advertising, soliciting, and propagating, and glorifying vice.

you have to be able to look bad faith in the eye and say absolutely not, even if that bad faith is coming from the highest levels of government

if you can’t, you do not - in any meaningful sense - have an institution, and all the kids who go there will learn is to weaponize bad faith themselves
this is just rank cowardice, the student very obviously disregarded the instructions and the assignment to antagonize her peers and instructors and provoke this exact reaction, society simply can’t function when the people in charge scurry like kicked dogs every time some troll bully says boo
