According to the people who make money lying about me on the Internet, I have risen from the dead, crawled out of a hidey hole, or otherwise “come back” more than 50 times over the past three years—a rate of 1.38 resurrections per month.

Jesus who?

TBH most of these accounts likely are not state run, just folks cashing in—literally—on MAGA rage

These foreign-run accounts are following the best practices of disinfo:
-ID vulnerable audience
-amplify preexisting grievances, fissures, or hot-button issues
-monetize and watch the cash flow in.

We've seen this movie many times before. We shouldn't be shocked, but we should be vigilant.

My nonprofit @americansunlight.org looked at this behavior continuing basically unabated six years after FB introduced page transparency in 2018. As covered by @afp.com: www.straitstimes.com/world/united...

Am I the only person thoroughly unsurprised that so many right-wing ragebait accounts are run from abroad?

The same thing happened on Facebook when they introduced page transparency.

The big question is whether it will change behavior. My prediction is it won't.

X rolled out a new feature overnight showing where accounts are based. This network of “Trump-supporting independent women” that claimed to be “real Americans” are based in Thailand.

The photos were stolen from European models & posts pushed pro-Trump lines while targeting Islam and LGBTQ people.
This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

It makes my blood boil that my country is once again using Russian talking points as operable facts, and privileging Russian interests and US profits over the lives and self determination of Ukrainians who have fought for and protected our freedom for the past 10+ years.

Shameful.

Trump’s “peace plan” to end Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine seems like it was written in crayon by someone with a high schooler’s understanding of the Kremlin, who thinks this is all a game of monopoly to be won.

Oh, wait. 🫥 1/

The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.
