If they haven’t already someone should write about the expanded UTAX universe of new Open Phil-adjacent think tanks springing up, the post-Bostrom wave of alt-ac including Cosmos Institute, Roots of Progress, etc. Elevated art deco slop and statue avis and their textual equivalents.
The largest infrastructure projects currently being built in the US appear to be data centers and detention centers. The AI boom has coincided with ICE becoming the most heavily funded government agency. It's hard not to see a connection: This is the architectures of digital fascism

Plans for such centers and jails in nearly two dozen communities have sparked protests over suitability, proximity to homes and schools.

I cannot tell you how much doubt was consistently directed at the Gaza Health Ministry’s casualty numbers and how much pressure was put on news organizations to couch those numbers as unreliable.

Biden himself said they were fabricated!

I suspect that the kidnapping of #Maduro will also turn out to have something to do with this. A deal will be done whereby he "admits" to involvement in this ludicrous #conspiracy story in return for some kind of pardon. We do indeed live in the stupidest timeline.

This. What is generally termed #AI (actually mainly #GenerativeAI / #LLM -driven automation), has no real path to financial viability (or necessity), so "forced adoption" is the only way the billionaire elite and their political minions are going to enrich themselves from it in the longer term.
‘They are no longer strategizing for voluntary adoption by those who come to recognize the technology’s utility by electively applying it to the problems they face. They are planning how to cross the chasm by forced adoption.’

The is is not surprising. UK #Labour has been a massively pro- #surveillance party for a long time. It was under Labour that we produced the Report on the Surveillance Society in 2006... Foucault understood Bentham's #Panopticon as repressive social reform and that's #NewLabour all round.
The actual words of the current British Home Secretary:
“My ultimate vision for that part of the criminal justice system was to achieve, by means of AI and technology, what Jeremy Bentham tried to do with his Panopticon. That is that the eyes of the State can be on you at all times."

It’s not that Carney has no plan to deal with the US, or that he’s selling Canada out. It’s that his proposed solution to the problem that he has *correctly* identified is simply a repackaging of tired, old conservative ideas that should have gone out of fashion with the 2008 GFC, if not earlier.

1/ Trump Administration officials have reportedly held several secret meetings with Canadian separatists, who are seeking US$500 billion to bankroll their efforts. It suggests that the Administration is interested in breaking up Canada and absorbing the remnants. ⬇️

The same circumstances are true when it comes to metro systems.

China opened more metro lines in 2025 alone than exist in the entire countries of Russia, UK, or France. Over the past 4 years, China built 2.5x as much metro lines as the US has in total.
