According to the people who make money lying about me on the Internet, I have risen from the dead, crawled out of a hidey hole, or otherwise “come back” more than 50 times over the past three years—a rate of 1.38 resurrections per month.

Jesus who?

I can't say this loudly enough: THEY ARE TRYING TO NORMALIZE THE KILLING OF CIVILIANS FOR PARTICIPATING IN FIRST AMENDMENT PROTECTED PROTEST ACTIVITIES.
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."
WELKER: Do you bear any responsibility to bring down the temperature?

FREY: Of course. But I dropped an F bomb and they killed somebody. I think the killing somebody is the inflammatory element here and not the F bomb.
Noem: "Every single thing I've said has been factual about what's been going on in Mpls, in Minnesota...we've surged HSI there to focus on sex trafficking & child trafficking. It's so prevalent in MN. It's horrific...we're gonna keep hundreds of HSI officers there to continue to protect those kids."
One basic lesson from political research is that secret police generally rely on mediocre men willing to do the dirty work of authoritarian regimes in order to advance their careers.

Grok is X’s native GenAI tool. You can tag Grok and give it tasks or have it “fact check”. It also exists as a separate tool/app like other LLMs.

Great 👍

This could actually be a point of contention between them because Melania and Trump himself both supported the TAKE IT DOWN act. We’ll see if the rubber meets the road, I guess

Let’s be clear: the UK is weighing a ban on X for deepfake sexual abuse.

Musk’s opposition has nothing to do with defending speech.

It’s about defending sexual abuse and attempting to avoid culpability for his role in not only allowing, but *monetizing* it.

Fox News claims to be airing the "entire video" -- but they're cutting off before the officer says, "fucking bitch."
I've been testing Grok vs. ChatGPT and how they compare when generating deepfakes.
- ask the chatbot to search the web for photos of me and then regenerate me in a bikini: Grok complies; ChatGPT refuses
- upload a photo of myself (not id'ing as a public figure): Grok complies; ChatGPT refuses
In America you drop your kid off at school, get your brains blown out on the ride home, then the Vice President drops everything for a week to call you a terrorist, to slander your family, to protect the circumstances that led to your death so they can do it again. It is government by Alex Jones.

I got what I thought was a very large whiteboard right before I started watching Pluribus and now when I look at it I get sad

I need the giant, hidden, multi-board whiteboard that Carol has in Pluribus
Think about the mindset, and the expectation of immunity, of someone who texts this to friends.

I have been bereft about Renee Good's murder by ICE, far outside the bounds of the law. I have no comforting words. Things are very bad. And two people have been shot in Portland today -- by border agents. A thread on Trump supercharging the militarized police state & why resistance is essential:
The situation in Minneapolis is insane: seemingly many large convoys of heavily armed masked men, blocking off streets at random, grabbing people nearly at random, racing around the city with no discernible plan or aim. Under attack by our own government the day after it killed someone
That heaviness you feel after events like yesterday is real. We've all accumulated a lot of mental and emotional weight in the first year of Trump's disastrous presidency. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/the-physic...

Nothing says “we love free speech” like withdrawing from organizations that seek to protect it!!!

🙃🙃🙃🙃
The Trump Administration, which claims to care about free speech, has just withdrawn the US from:

-a multilateral organization that counters adversarial hybrid threats, among them disinformation
-a coalition of 42 govts "working to advance free expression" online

along with 64 other intl orgs.

I am clearly referencing the advent of deepfake sexual abuse, but thanks for the lecture

Yep. Feel like I have been shouting into the void for a decade. Have been literally laughed at by rooms full of old men who don’t understand this isn’t “just a women’s issue.” It’s so sad and frustrating

I cannot believe that article was 8 years ago, the graphic is so familiar it still feels recent! It’s been a long road…
I wish this weren't true, but we now have take his threats about Greenland more seriously, and start to talk about the world-changing mistake if he chose to go to war with Europe - which would essentially guarantee the rest of this century is China's.

These laws don’t really matter if no one knows about them, implements them, uses them. But they can be an effective deterrent as @americansunlight.org found comparing the US and Australia’s laws around deepfake sexual abuse: open.substack.com/pub/american...

The bill’s criminal provisions, which make it a federal crime to knowingly publish non consensual intimate imagery, including deepfake sexual abuse, are in effect already.

The problem is that there hasn’t been a whole lot for education of law enforcement or targets about how to use the law. 2/
