Let’s be clear: the UK is weighing a ban on X for deepfake sexual abuse.

Musk’s opposition has nothing to do with defending speech.

It’s about defending sexual abuse and attempting to avoid culpability for his role in not only allowing, but *monetizing* it.

The bill’s criminal provisions, which make it a federal crime to knowingly publish non consensual intimate imagery, including deepfake sexual abuse, are in effect already.

The problem is that there hasn’t been a whole lot for education of law enforcement or targets about how to use the law. 2/
