Instead of leading the public to much needed housing resources and fair housing assistance, this is 1st thing ppl see when they go to the HUD website today. It looks like the focus on the customer experience has long gone out the door with this administration like so many other things.

Creation of housing discrimination laws to fight racial and other illegal discrimination were created by Congress to be enforced. The administration has no legal right to take that away. The facts in this article should cause alarm to everyone. Oversight is urgent.

The 1921 Tulsa Race War is an undertold story about decimation of a thriving Black community in OK. The work of the Terrance Crutcher Found. is part of a community working to ensure the story is told and investments in and justice for the future of Greenwood and its people are made. Thx Dr. Crutcher

Yet another TX House mid-census cycle redistricting hearing with NO maps for the public to review AND taking place after the TX AG said the current maps did not violate the law. So why are we here you may ask.

Justice Albin’s history of NJ, pre-Mt. Laurel decisions, is insightful.

Make no mistake. Discrimination in education (including inequitable school funding) and housing (including trapping families in school zones/neighborhoods) are inextricably linked.

Given what we can see in the President’s FY ‘2026 full budget, which was recently released, we can only hope Congress can resist the bullying from the White House enough to deliver on our country’s and community needs.

HUD may be backing away from the full breadth of the Fair Housing Act, but LDF is not. Check our Thurgood Marshall Institute’s new publication, “Barred from Housing”

It was a pleasure speaking with my sorors today during Red and White Day at the TX Capitol about the Legal Defense Fund’s priorities during this TX Legislative Session as they relate to political participation, economic justice and education equity.
