The economy is pretty tight for a lot of the game if you don't do some grinding, and I didn't care a ton for the shard system but it did lead to pretty decent experimentation and a requirement to either do something else or simply become better. The passive tool build system was really good

Hollow Knight Silksong: Insane sequel to exist. It gets really fucked up and evil at the end and is just what you'd want as a fan of the first game. You can tell they were getting insane with it as they made the endgame challenges harder and harder
