So gov.uk is a fiendish plot to kill Scottish independence with a black grant of £51 billion over 2022-5? Not to mention all the institutions that are GB and would be nigh impossible to divide eg all the Research Councils...

And if the massive financial support from UK gov leaves too?
Thanks to the SNP and NHS Scotland, A&E performance has been better in Scotland than under Labour or the Tories in England and Wales before AND after COVID.

To get back to earlier performance we'll need to regain independence and ditch Westminster austerity.

Well it’s all such a swirl of misinformation it’s difficult to know anything about him for certain. Meanwhile Trumpists turn it into a left wing plot of course…
Ehrlich gesagt habe ich vorher noch nie von Kirk gehört, obwohl ich permanent online bin und viel Nachrichten lese.

Support this. BBC news reporting is hopeless. Lack of balance, also obsessed with individual sob stories while Europe collapses.
I’ve signed the @libdems.org.uk petition to Balance The BBC.

Reform only have 4 MPs, yet Nigel Farage accounts for 60% of the BBC website's mentions of opposition leaders.

The BBC has a duty to deliver fair, impartial coverage - we need year-round rules to ensure all parties are treated fairly. 📺
Balance the BBC
The BBC is our national broadcaster, people expect and deserve balanced news coverage.

While the Ukraine provision faced pushback, a proposal by Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene to eliminate aid was rejected with bipartisan opposition.

My favourite Scottish poet is Norman Macaig, especially for his Assynt poems. Yours?

I lived and worked in Scotland for 12 years, my closest family and friends are Scots and none of them support independence. They’re especially scathing of English incomers who do. They also know how too many Scots blather on about being colonised when they were foremost among the British colonists
Dennis, I appreciate that you’re not in or from Scotland, and ignorant of how things are here

You are exposed to the output from a british unionist fundamentalist media, hostile to independence

The Scottish independence campaign is an inclusive one, and includes so many “English Scots for YES” 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇪🇺

What a non issue. Let him focus on the economy and immigration…

What a dizzy height you’re on.
Rather than understanding a whole movement you seem to have met some exceptions. Many folk who want Scotland to regain independence were in fact born in England and have moved here. For the vast majority it has nothing to do with any feelings about England or you.

Yes… do you find this hard to believe
Are you speaking from personal experience?
September 8, 2025 at 12:18 PM
Yes…only joking. But scotnats always a pain and while some want to seem right on re refugees, still unpleasant to arrivals from nearer at hand..

As long as they’re not English?
👏
Instead of delivering support on the cost of living, Westminster is busy demonising people who seek sanctuary.

I will have no part in it.

Our Saltire is a flag of welcome - and refugees are welcome here in Scotland.

Which one do the right wing press set out to destroy?

@matthewsyed.bsky.social thank you for another excellent column in today’s Sunday Tines on the foolishness of calling the despot Putin ‘president’ as if he has any legitimacy on even the US model which at least elected Trump, sadly.
