TLDR. LLMs are not plug and play. If you want to use LLMs for your science writing, you MUST learn how to use the tool and apply due diligence double checking and rewriting the outcome. Take your time to figure out when it is helpful and when it isn't. It saves way less time than people think.

Also, ChatGPT is NOT a trustworthy source. It does not follow journalistic or scientific standards. It is, after all, simply a non-random text generator. You need to do your due diligence double checking everything when using ChatGPT.

What I take out of this is what I've been saying for a while now: To use ChatGPT effectively, you must understand how it works, and how to use the settings and prompts to fine tune. It is possible that you never get exactly what you want. But then you have text to work with.

I am not surprised that it overhyped results. However, this could be an issue of prompting or aforementioned settings. That it only considered one paper might be an issue with length. Inputs are not unlimited. OpenAI says ChatGPT can process 2 million tokens of text. I am not so sure about that.
