David kept boasting that the police were on their way to confiscate our drone. Unsurprisingly, they never showed up. 13/15

Special shout-out to hunt follower David Evans who has moved on from “I hope you’re all paying your VAT!” to entertaining us with rants about drone licensing, which he seems to know even less about than taxes. 12/15

However, intervention by sabs ensured that neither of the foxes who were hunted to ground were dug out and killed. Terrier boys Jake Crabb and Tom Bounsall were sat idle on their quadbike alongside equally jobless hunt lackey Jade all day. 11/15

Two foxes were marked to ground over the course of the day. One of these marks was in a small earth in a hedge near the meet, which Jason allowed the hounds to cause considerable damage to by digging. 10/15

Several hounds ended up scattered as far south as Horridge while Jason and the bulk of the pack carried on drawing northwards before finishing at Goodcott and hacking back to the meet. 09/15

After hounds chased a sheep to death in this exact area just a few weeks ago, we’re not surprised she was concerned! 08/15

Two separate landowners complained that hounds and riders had entered their land without permission. One landowner on the edge of Ashreigney was running around trying to find out whether the hunt were intending to go near her ewes. 07/15

The last hour was spent back in the valley south of the meet and then east to Moorwater and Churchwater with a final (apparently unplanned) stint around South Farm and Densham on the edge of Ashreigney. 06/15

Instead of stopping them, Jason hunted hounds on all along this route. The busy stretch of the A3124 at Dolton Beacon was forced to a standstill when Jason eventually gathered the pack on the main road. Fortunately the fox got away. 05/15

At one point the pack went off on a strong line from the edge of Shear’s Wood all the way to Dolton Beacon Cottages and into one of the solar farm fields at Riddlecombe Moor, where they obviously have no permission to be. 04/15

Jason spent the day drawing one field of beets/brassicas after another, as well as the woods at Dolton Beacon and Shear’s Wood and the valleys between Northcott, Furze and Bolts. 03/15
December 2, 2025 at 3:52 PM
A small team of us kept eyes on them the entire day. Several foxes were seen by our drone, their escape aided by the intervention of foot sabs on the ground. 02/15

Jason’s poor horse also didn’t look too comfortable by the end of the day. 16/18
December 1, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Via Fishleigh Downs and Lake the hunt finally headed back towards their vehicles at Ian Balsdon's Reed Farm, but not before causing chaos in the farmyard around Risdon’s Fishleigh, where hounds rampaged through the paddocks, terrorising resident animals. 15/18
December 1, 2025 at 9:05 PM
A few minutes later, possibly the same fox was seen by our drone and again managed to escape the pack despite huntsman Jason Marles deliberately putting hounds on their line. 14/18

Foot sabs were in the right place to cover the scent of a very tired-looking fox who was desperately trying to outrun the hounds. 13/18
December 1, 2025 at 9:05 PM
The hunt returned to Hatherleigh Moor for the last part of the day, although only briefly drawing coverts on the moor itself before heading north and into the woods between Brook’s Moorhead and Fishleigh Castle. 12/18
December 1, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Having not had much luck with the foxes so far, terrier boy Tom Bounsall tried to show off to his new love interest Jade and the group of kids on horses nearby by driving his quadbike at sabs at high speed across the field, narrowly avoiding causing a serious collision. 11/18
December 1, 2025 at 9:05 PM
The hunt eventually moved south to another patch of dense covert around Teachmore Farm before returning to Broomford via Combe. 10/18
December 1, 2025 at 9:05 PM
The next few hours were spent around Broomford Manor, one of Eggesford’s favourite spots. Our drone hovered over the woods, spotting foxes and deer as they fled into the surrounding fields and communicating their location to our foot teams on the ground. 09/18
