I used to make games. Now I’m a stay-at-home-dad. I talk about video games, movies, and skateboarding. (He/Him)
The things I should be celebrating are things I’ve stressed myself over instead. Or things I’m forgetting I did well at, so I start getting scared of doing them again.

The best revenge is a life well lived?

Seriously though, my thought tonight was how vile it is that he not only steals the money, he’s delighted when George lies and says that he’s the one that lost it! A devious extra detail.

They made a big deal of the anniversary during the Thanksgiving Parade.

Also seems like every school around us did a “Grinch Day” this year for spirit week, and that felt like a conspiracy too.

I didn’t want to blame the restaurant at first because I thought it was a stomach bug from my kids’ pre-school, but I’m the only one who got sick lol

I’m the only one who got the sushi, so that’s why it’s the prime suspect. Could still have been a weird bug, but food poisoning seems funnier if true

Which is weird because it was nominated as best family game at The Game Awards?

I think probably because it would be fun to play together if you have older kids, but I don’t think that’s what we usually mean by family games.

Have you played any of their other games? A Way Out was rad. Brothers was a big deal for me.

It Takes Two is an incredible game that honed everything they worked towards as designers, but I’m not sure I can recommend it to you based on potential psychic damage.

I’m not saying we should give up on resisting AI.

We need to resist AI while solving the root problems too.

My biggest concern with AI is misinformation, but I’ve been worried about that before AI.

I don’t think we can just scream that AI is bad or social media is bad or cable news is bad. I think we always need to do our best to educate people on how to process info wherever they find it.

AI is probably a worse solution than using internal staff for VO, but the old solution came with underpaying people, pulling people off their actual work, and the logistical issues of scheduling and directing them.

We can fight AI, but what’s the next thing companies find to cut corners?

It feels like having to check the nutrition label on every bit of food you buy. I don’t want to have to do that for games and movies and music.

Does it go as far as, like, asking a baker at the farmer’s market if the label on their sourdough is AI?

Buying ANYTHING now is going to suck like this.
December 20, 2025 at 8:18 PM
There’s part of me that totally agrees. I also just love new video games and get excited about new things people are making, and bracing for the psychic damage of double checking every game sucks to have to do.

I also worry it’s going to be hard as a parent when my kid asks to buy…anything now?

If this sentence lacks coherence, that’s ok. It’s basically just a look into my brain as I do a big existentialist scream about trying to be a morally engaged consumer who doesn’t want to be yelled at by anyone.
