That's kinda my point though. This year (and likely 2027 too) are probably gonna be used to stretch out the four young starters and establish the prospects. Then you can go buy whatever you need: LHP, SU/CL, RH power bat. I think we need to keep all the young arms even if it's just for contingencies

Fair, but I think we lose any one-for-one trade and any package deal for a top-of-the-rotation starter would include Tong or Sproat too, which makes less sense

It's all about the farm system. They got four to five guys in Syracuse who will be in the lineup by 2027. Banking on Carson Benge to be on a PCA track and then save that money to get Skubal. Letting a RH power bat go is rough because that's a big need, but I think the plan is a parade in 2028
