i’m so curious what is their process.. obvs i have no translation exp or speak russian but i loved ready’s work (it was gripping! laugh out loud funny! his footnotes were so illuminating!) and the p+v notes from a dead house fell flat in comparison

many good ones…! crime and punishment was the big standout (i read the oliver ready translation), the unhappiness of a single man by kafka (sometimes classics….are good) and lost souls meet under a full moon by mizuki taujimura. for nonfic anything by david sedaris :)

my memory is that it doesn’t have gore (this was 10+ years ago but im squeamish as hell so i think i’d remember) i didn’t make it to the end tho, could be a gnarly final 20 minutes
