Thanks. Will check it out. I’m trying to find one that can reasonably say in our garage WITH the cars also inside!

Still thinking about buying one. What did you get, if I can ask?

Agreed. He’s still better than Poilievre, but the standard needs to be higher.

Just done the same. Thanks!

Dramatically strengthens it. Per Singh from CBC: www.cbc.ca/news/politic... - this is potentially an increase from $25/tonne to $130/tonne.

But a lot of people don't seem to believe that pricing actually influences behaviour. Which is a weird thing to think!

Absolutely true, but then this Liberal government has the same problem as the last one – they are absolutely lousy at comms.

From the polling, the public reaction was generally somewhat underwhelmed but generally supportive of the direction. But no other party is advocating for “more” in that direction.

I get that they all have their reasons for that, but again that weakens their hand.

Convince the public first.

But then much reporting on this budget process is bad. Look at the CBC articles saying the government won two confidence votes last week. That would be – er – the CPC voting against the Bloc spending proposals and the NDP/Bloc voting against the CPC budget cuts. Hardly about confidence at all.
November 17, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Agreed, that’s certainly a possibility. Also,, make that case or changes in the court of public opinion to force the government tor respond in the coming months. Insisting that the government change direction or face an election that the public doesn’t want isn’t a winning strategy.
November 17, 2025 at 6:20 PM
Agreed, reasonable negotiations were possible but the opposition parties were not interested, and at that point you get to the point that the Grits are unafraid of being in an election over this budget.

A minority parliament doesn’t mean the government gives in on everything, and it never has.

Though frankly I wouldn’t be surprised to see some abstentions from the CPC. The NDP votes last, which means that if PP wants to ensure he isn’t in an election with weak polling numbers and his political career on the line, the CPC needs to prevent it.

We’ll see tonight of course.
November 17, 2025 at 5:46 PM
Agreed completely, plus of course the Grits seem to feel that the budget represents what they were elected to do, and is happy to go to an election on it if the opposition forces it. Why in the world would the NDP think threatening the Grits with a good time item is going to work?
