in the quiet between sips
i watch sun runners stream in
slow finger reaching across wooden floors
a dust filled life, breath to breath, shore to shore
marveling how rain needs the Earth, her tiny toothed pieces
carrying all the names of things we've seen/felt
and have yet to imagine into being
