Two videos have helped me process my grief from the last week. One was a woman releasing a scream of rage at a canyon’s edge. The other was this.

I spent the weekend camping in the woods with my troop. Friday night had sweltering humidity and insane thunderstorms blowing in, and Saturday brought a thirty degree temperature drop. We had a blast. 💚

This is kind of neat to see all together. Everything west of Texas is from road trips to national parks with the kids hauling our camper. (Plus getting married in Vegas 20+ years ago) Fantastic memories.

I needed to read this poem by Nikita Gill this morning. I think maybe this afternoon some of you would like to read it, too.

Happy #KidLitArtPostcard Day! I'm Diandra Mae, an author-illustrator who loves illustrating quiet moments, especially in nature. In 2026 I'm looking for board book & picture book projects. You can see more of my work at diandramae.com. I am seeking representation. 🎨

One of my big projects this year was to hire a crew to remove the fallen trees in our yard, but I’ve been hearing a Great Horned Owl call outside my bedroom window for two weeks now, so obviously that’s going to be put on hold. #naturecalls 🦉

Starting the new year reading an essay by LeGuin was absolutely the right move:

I’ve put a hold on this new edition of her thoughts on writing, and can’t wait to read them.

Despite *waves at 2025*, I made quite a bit of art, and I’m excited to keep playing and experimenting in 2026. #artvartist2025 #artvsartist

I didn’t take many photos during our family trip to Puerto Rico, but I did do a quick drawing to capture some of our most memorable moments.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but indie creatives with storefronts, be aware that Amazon is beta-testing a program that scrapes the internet via AI and may be offering your products for sale, without your permission. #art #illustrators #indie Video here:

Today is Hobbit Day, where the family marathons the LOTR trilogy, and dines on hobbit food: crusty bread, beef stew, etc. It’s one of the best days of the year. 😊🧙‍♂️🌋🧝‍♀️

Watching A League of Their Own (such a classic), and it inspired me to make myself a little reminder.

Even better, look at the theme of the puzzle it appears in. It’s officially ancient.

Hey @mostlybree.kitrocha.com, look at this puzzle piece. 😆

The coqui say, “Merry Xmas!”
🐸🇵🇷

(They’re really saying, “Hey!” “Hi there!” “What’s up?!” But ya know, seasons greetings and all that.)

Visiting my parents for the holiday, and noticed that my mom’s garden has some wild things growing in it.

Huh, I’m looking at November, and trying to remember which posts had that much engagement, because I’m sure I’ve muted them by now. 😅 (I don’t know how those of you with huge followings do it!)

Last night was dead bodies. Tonight it’s mostly-dead pirates.
