Even 18th century mercantilists knew that if you were trying to use tariffs to boost your trade surplus, you wanted to tax imports of *finished goods,* not the *inputs*

NEW: Per a message to staff, the National Cancer Institute is facing a purchasing backlog of over *4.4 million dollars*. People are instructed to use a special “urgent emergency purchase form” for anything related to patient life/direct care, animal welfare, and a couple other things.

When Musk's minions forced their way into USAID's servers, they made themselves "super administrators" meaning they had access to workers' Social Security numbers, credit histories, and home addresses.

They may have well broken the law.
