been working on chapter 18 of otde so here is a little snippet for #wipwednesday
However, Simon resisted and decided on a better idea. Digging into his duffle bag, he searched around until he found what he was looking for—a black balaclava with a skull print on the front. He grabbed the mask and handed it to Johnny, who raised his eyebrow at him while taking the balaclava from him. "Wait...this is...." Johnny's eyes widened and flashed with recognition. "Yup," Simon confirmed. "Used to wear this during meets to keep warm. Also helped me focus." Johnny thumbed at the knitted fabric. "And you're lettin' me wear it?" "No, I just want you to hold it," Simon teased. "Of course I want you to wear it." With a moment's hesitation, Johnny stared down at the balaclava and then looked up at Simon with a radiating warmth. "Thank you." "It's nothing," Simon deflected. "Aye, right," Johnny replied as he slid the mask over his face. The window for the eyes was skewed, so Simon reached over to adjust the fabric until Johnny's brilliant blues stared back at him. "There. Perfect."
