What was wild to me is also hearing about how among younger people friends have their friends location on. Like, I love you, but no…I don’t want to keep track on everyone, and I’d like my privacy things.

Unfortunately they aren't even deciding on policy today from what I know, only a broad political statement at most, which won't specifically reference trans people I think. So they *still* won't be explicit on that.

Yeah like getting rid of the SWP is based, but I do suspect it was done more on the basis of trying to win conference votes and positioning for the leadership election rather than anything ideological

I don't know how she could stoop so low as to ride for the SWP. Like, they go against what she says she stands for??? All because she wants to win a leadership vote I imagine. Pathetic.

Like, I think only those of us who are doing them/are close to people doing them know just how much work, effort, dedication, pain (is that just me?) they take. I think anyone doing one is super cool and awesome and you should be proud of yourself for getting this fair.

Ah yeah, anything that's not STEM is heavily looked down upon sadly (I may well face that too tbf, just be being delusional). It mega sucks because arts are just as important.
If you're close to the end you may as well finish it tho. Won't hurt! It's always a great achievement.

I mean maybe I'm delusional but I want to go into some sort of research role, civil service, charities, whatever works. Like I'd hope a PhD proves that I'm good at that lol. But we'll see where it goes honestly. As long as I don't work for any ghoulish organisations or policies.

It is shocking the Government just shrugs about the collapse of Unis and makes things worse, if anything. One of the things the UK does relatively well all things considered and it'll just...go.

Oh, I decided a couple of years ago there was absolutely no way I was going into academia. I guess that's made it easier. There have been strikes since I was an undergrad in 2018, almost every year, and nothing has changed.
You can go abroad maybe, or do something else. But yeah. UK = nope.
