With Alberta staring down the barrel of a vote on separation, I've been revisiting research on the 1995 Quebec Referendum.

Here are 5 key lessons we ought to learn. And quickly.

I mean, the NDP shouldn't even *have* to do these things, given what's gone on under the UCP for six dreadfully long years.

But, it's Alberta, where execrably shitty seems to be good enough for the Con supporters in this province.

Fuck.

Our only question is if Rick Wilson will be there or if he’ll “run and hide”…

Good luck negotiating everyone!

For real, like why do we talk about "male loneliness" 24/7 when so many young men are just unpleasant to be around lol take some accountability!!!!!!

You know who actually struggle with loneliness that isn't their own fault? Seniors. Not seeing a ton of think pieces about that, though.
my most conservative-coded trait these days is that i honestly think that the worst possible thing that can happen for young men is for the entire society to coddle them. what they need to hear is that they have one life to live and they have to take responsibility for it.
Young men don't open bank accounts. They are too expensive. They download coin base or Robinhood app and buy crypto. That's their savings

If one party pushes that number higher. They vote for em. Gensler/Biden caused those savings to go down. The demo with the biggest change was young men

I do think this is a strong line of attack against Carney, though his focus at Brookfield was apparently ESG investing.

Still, corporate landlords and the financialization of housing is a scourge, so if people associate Carney with that...not good!

(But also, Poilievre won't fix that either).

Day by day, it's becoming clearer that the UCP government is hiding behind the 6 ongoing investigations to avoid answering questions about the one issue that none of them is examining:

Political interference.

And only a public inquiry can get to the bottom of that.
