New festive centrepiece has flopped
Madame Poppykins the cat laying on top of two Christmas napkins that sit in the middle of the table. Beneath that is a red plaid tablecloth. And right smack in the middle where a bowl full of Christmas picks *I was preparing to put down* would usually sit is a very fluffy cat wielding cuteness as her main weapon while occasionally extending the claws as a seeming reminder of who is actually in charge here.

We did more Christmas ornaments this afternoon. Mum painted the penguin (even gave it a backside!), I did the other three. The left one is painted on both sides with the same style, I don’t know how to properly adhere gems to the flower middles but I think they’d look better with little gems 🤔

I’m not sure that I’m done, I’m never *really* done, but every ornament that I presently own is now on this tree so *for now* here it is - my Christmas tree 🎄
A 7.5ft green artificial Christmas tree with white angel topper and a red with gold snowflakes tree skirt. The tree is covered with a mix of clear and multicoloured lights, and ornaments that express my personality in some way (eg Care Bears), remind me of my childhood and that I hunted out at thrift stores to ‘copy’ my tree growing up, are ceramics painted with my mum, or were gifted to me by people that know my love for Christmas. In the lower right corner beside the tree is a sign showing a black cat wearing a Santa hat and the words, “That’s cute they hung my toys on a tree” 😼

Another 500 multicolour lights later and I’m finally ready to start putting ornaments on! I’ve almost got my mum’s place fully decorated now as well, just linens and the tree left to do.
A 7.5-foot green artificial Christmas tree with a red with gold stars tree skirt and a white angel tree topper. The tree does not yet have any ornaments. There are 500 soft white and 300 multicoloured interior lights, and another 400 soft white and 500 multicoloured exterior lights.

I’m delayed by running out of working multicoloured lights, but I did manage to nab a seemingly-never-used angel for $5 from value village! Can’t get her straight until I’m done the lights so for now it looks like she’s a wee bit tipsy 😬
An unfinished 7.5ft artificial Christmas tree. The tree is covered in a mix of clear and multicoloured lights on the inside and, so far, just clear lights on the exterior. At the top is an ivory and bright white angel with blonde hair and a single bulb in her left hand. Currently there are 500 soft white LED (interior) and 400 clear incandescent (exterior) lights on the tree, and 300 (interior) multicoloured lights. Without glasses my poor eyesight sees beautiful soft glow snowflake-like orbs. It’s honestly better that way 😅

It begins…
I was delayed by seeing if I could find a new 7ft pre-lit tree that I liked and could afford - I did not find one. Thank you past me for leaving the branches fluffed! I have to get a new angel topper, the one I’ve had since childhood is looking a little fire-hazardy.
A 7.5ft artificial Christmas tree that is incomplete. Currently it only has the inner white lights added and a tree skirt (red with gold stars and snowflakes) placed at the base.

I was not planning to buy more Christmas stuff, I don’t even know where I will hang it yet, but it is Care Bears and my heart insisted it was a necessity for living so here we are 🤪
