Our new research vessel is taking shape at the Louisiana-based shipyard Aluma. After Thanksgiving, the hull will be flipped and the deck house attached.

We had some fun today at the Alabama Aquarium with our Tank or Treat event. Visitors had the chance to get up close to creepy crawly critters and chat with our graduate students.

Today, some of these seahorses are helping to teach Central Campus high school students about biodiversity in Des Moines, Iowa.

Coastal classrooms are not the only place you will find collaboration with our team at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. In landlocked Iowa, a number of seahorses raised by aquarists from the Alabama Aquarium are helping to teach high school students about biodiversity.

Since 2019, Discovery Hall Programs has partnered with Dr. Paul Harnik to develop Postcards from the Past. An interactive activity developed from the field to the classroom to explore the environmental history of the Northern Gulf Coast. A collection is displayed in the Alabama Aquarium.
