Yeah it’s pretty shit, like I’m happy the coalition got dumpstered last election but the alp winning by so much with the greens shedding votes was pretty discouraging

The aus ban is such shitty legislation too, all the experts consulted were like, “this isn’t going to help and it’s too easy to circumvent”. But our spineless labor party pushed it through because it’s “popular”

Australians, please raid your Uncle's old PC in his shed, and help me find a copy of this to archive.

I HATE COLLINGWOOD Wolfenstein 3D mod on floppy disk. This version doesn't work. :(

I think Magic: The Gathering is at an extremely bad place right now, and I think the recent Spider-Man set is a true low point. I went slightly wild in my @endlessmode.bsky.social column this week about it. Tune in for the phrase "suckling hogs" www.endlessmode.com/tabletop/mag...
Marvel’s Spider-Man and Through the Omenpaths Are A Bad Omen For Magic’s Future
Magic: The Gathering fans have been dealt a bad hand with the card game's unexciting, misguided new Spider-Man set.

Excellent time playing #Midgard last night with @djchamb.online and other friends. Made good use of the bases I made last week and my Warhammer collection. Skaven and Undead vs Dwarves and Bretonnians, with some Treemen spicing up the action! #spreadthelard #wargaming

I’ve touched so many card games over the last 25 years and still return to these 3 the most. Back to Esper’s original post FAB is one of the coolest non derivative games out there. Netrunner will always be number 1 though.

It’s actually wild that Garfield’s first 3 commercial card games, Magic, Vampire: The Eternal Struggle and Netrunner are all so wildly different and still actively played and supported.

I love unfair flips by @hthrflwrs.bsky.social, here's a screenshot of me hitting 9 heads in a row with the coin odds starting at 25%. Almost hit the perfect speedrun of the game.
Flipping 9 heads in a row in the video game Unfair Flips by Heather Flowers with only a 25-35% chance of it landing on heads.

This is a really fun piece of short fiction about an American reading the wikipedia page on Maoism.

Additional history:
Beetle Adventure Racing! was released exclusively in Australia as HSV Adventure Racing!
The only difference with this version is that all of the Beetle vehicles were replaced with Holden Special Vehicles brand cars, because beetles (both car and bug) can't survive in Australia.

It's been a while.

Glad to be announcing a new game, and happy that it is something experimental and weird: a tiny, tense, turn-based strategy game about merging units into spectacular combinations, and then watching them evaporate thousands of bugs.

Very late game when you want to grind XP for the challenge bosses respawning specific high xp enemies that you know the patterns of was useful but beyond that it really didn't make any sense.

Be like (old) Ultima Online with no area specific chat so you can only see what people type if you are on the same screen as them, it was real market place vibes at Brit bank in the 90s

Phantasy Star is a vital RPG from the 8-bit era, and one that, thanks to its Sega Ages treatment, is worth your time today, even if you're the kind of person who shies away from this era of role-playing game. Especially if, really.
Retro Spotlight: Phantasy Star
The original Phantasy Star is very much an old-school JRPG even in its more updated forms, but it remains a piece of genre history worth experiencing.

Finished up Expedition 33 this week and while I really enjoyed it the story kind of fell apart for me at the end. It's still one of the best games I've played this year and there's so much about it I adored, but how it all wraps up just rubs me the wrong way.

A little bit like Mechs to Plowshares, a solo ttrpg where you have to slowly strip out the combat functionality from your mech so it’s better at farming while the threat of an enemy attack is still present

Octopath Traveller II kind of just skips having a final dungeon which is great. You need to go to four locations with a specific pair of characters in your party for each and complete a mini dungeon and a boss. Once those are done you just get to go fight (the very cool) final boss.
