The music we love exists because of the artists who create it.

🗓️ TODAY is #BandcampFriday

This means that when you buy music, all* of your money goes to the artists & labels who need your support.

There won't be another #BandcampFriday until August, so don't sleep.

Just in case you need to know how the EQ section of a A&H xone 23 works, here’s a cheat sheet:

Low- and high pass filters have a 6dB/oct slope and the frequency of 2.5kHz and 0.5kHz respectively.

The mid band goes until -24dB gain reduction centered around 1kHz with Q of 1.

This can be big. I hope developers jump on this.

2/2 You may want to make it your business to read this scathing article linked, which basically explains why and how Black music makers and artists were shamelessly robbed of the exposure they deserved back in the early 80's, with that sound finally becoming trendy now!

Very important PSA about the new “Stable volume” feature on #YouTube which is unfortunately on by default and ruins most audio production demonstrations.
Have you watched one of my videos recently and thought something like "this is all very interesting, but I'm not sure I can HEAR what you're talking about" ?

If so, then a new YouTube feature could be the reason.
In this video I show how it works, and how to disable it.

Logic Pro has been acting up so I wiped everything to start from scratch.

It used to bug me that every second company has its own software manager to download and install their stuff (as opposed to individual installers). Always adding some background process, an installer helper, etc.

But…

Just saw a random internet mixing advice that stereo width should have a constant upward trajectory suggesting to start with 80% width for the lows and end up with 120% for the airy frequencies.

I disagree. It produces unnatural results and I have a theory why
