So, let me get this straight--it's "holy" for parents to ask the government to protect their kids from books with LGBTQ+ characters, but it's "evil" for parents to ask the government why it didn't do more to keep their kids from drowning in a flood.
REPORTER: Families are upset because warnings didn't go out in time. What do you say to those families?

TRUMP: Well I think everyone did an incredible job under the circumstances. Only a bad person would ask a question like that. Only an evil person would ask a question like that.

Observed trend in Earth energy imbalance may provide a constraint for low climate sensitivity models
Climate forcings by greenhouse gases and aerosols cause an imbalance at the top of the atmosphere between the net incoming solar radiation and outgoing longwave radiation from Earth. This Earth energy...

As is true with universal basic income and universal healthcare, shorter workweeks are also supported by the evidence as being good policy. We should do all three. The only thing preventing them are the fears of those in power who worry about reductions of their ability to coerce and control.

The GOP Tax Bill Is a Dangerous Gamble at a Precarious Moment
House Republicans have bet that nothing bad will happen to America’s economic position or energy supply. The evidence suggests that’s a big risk.

ALL OF THESE ARE POTENTIALLY FLIPPABLE.

I'm posting them in order of how close the 2024 margin was:

Periodic reminder this is FDA-approved for men as well as women up to age 45!

It covers 9 strains of HPV so even if you’ve been exposed to some, it can protect you from others.

It works on strains that cause cervical, vaginal, vulvar, anal, throat and back of mouth cancer. Low-key medical miracle.

This moment is tricky as a public-facing historian, because folks want historical examples for the current moment, but the fact is most historical rulers simply lacked the level of control over their economies necessary to make a mistake like this.

Even if they decreed it, they couldn't enforce it.

I like paying taxes. Genuinely. Not grudgingly. I can’t pave a road, I can’t build and staff a hospital. $200 in my pocket won’t pay for my kid’s daycare but if we all pool our money it might. I really wish someone on the left would be brave enough to be like, “Taxes are good, actually.”
