Liberal nature and animal lover who likes to read. Retired Environmental Health Scientist. No DMs, no $ requests. I love cats because they save our sanity in times of trouble. Please don't put me on lists! Thank you.
We've had rogue elements in our government before but not in my lifetime have we seen such widespread, corrupt, willing, and overt complicity to openly destroy democracy without the majority in Congress standing up to put a halt to it. We are living in open fascism. We must resist with fierce hope.

Decades ago I was part of a group that helped find El Salvadoran refugees safe places to stay in this nation while they obtained political refugee status. Most were made so by cocaine wars initiated by our government. Everyone knew to act in silence for the protection of all concerned.

Imagine a world where people behaved like cats. We would cuddle more, tussle and fuss, eat what is needed, leave the rest, play like children, be forever curious, intelligent, and most importantly ever forgiving.

My mother born in 1910 lost her own mother to tuberculosis in 1920. Her father abandoned his children so she quit school to help raise her younger siblings. Franklin Roosevelt was her favorite President. May we all be like the strong women who raised us.

Happy New Year Dear mom wherever you are!

Tomorrow is wood,
Only today does the fire burn brightly.

RFK Jr. is a disgrace to his family and this nation. What he has done is cruel. My heart goes out to Tatiana's family. I lost my mother, father, sister, and brother to cancer. We need cancer research to understand everything possible about this harsh disease.

Congrats to Iowa! My wife and I were protesting tRump on the steps of the Iowa Capitol building during his first installation. Fortunately we were able to move west before his second. May this once progressive state remember to move forward.

The tail wags the dog because of apathetic voters and an antiquated electoral college based in slavery.

Be safe from far away. I live in a valley below the mountains so mostly see snow. Ice is treacherous.

They obviously don't follow your account. One really can't tell much about a book just from the cover... maybe do a little research before going negative? Oh well, I'm old. Bless the smoking kitties. 😹
