Memes are also inherently popular among young people, and even currently memes are being used in lecture and classrooms to demonstrate and simplify seemingly complex topics. #UWJ201 #318

There are a multitude of ways one can assess if what they’re seeing is a Deepfake. Like all AI, monotone and “perfect” speech is a dead giveaway, as well as motion blurring and “odd” looking movement. #UWJ201 #318

AI makes advancements incredibly quickly, and as of recent the United States government makes decisions very slowly. To be able to keep up with advancements, there needs to be quick legislation, which the United States simply does not have the current climate for. #UWJ201 #318

AI is incredibly useful for procedural jobs, such as data entry, translation, and any other jobs that can be done without direct supervision. #UWJ201 #318

Personally I tend to lose interest if I am presented with too many facts. I’m weak to bright colors and flashing lights, and humorous or otherwise creative ad campaigns get my attention and keep it the easiest #UWJ201 #318

I see consistency as particularly effective, as with an intensely unusual start to the decade, people have been looking for normalcy, which can be tapped into through advertising campaigns #UWJ201 #318

They seem to be linked together more than seperate events. Disinformation can be understood to be fact and then spread, which results in misinformation. In that sense it’s hard to quantify one or the other as more frequent. #UWJ201 #318

I believe that this still holds true, and perhaps is even more true than ever. Fundamentally, most conspiracy theories boil down to a view of government as malicious, which necessitates not trusting government as an institution. #UWJ201 #318

Yes. While public opinion can have moderate views, the most outspoken views are usually the less moderate ones. Coverage that favors moderate viewpoints does not engage with the majority of written and spoken opinions, which tend to be more extreme. #UWJ201 #318

The relative hostile media effect reinforces existing beliefs more than anything else. When faced with adversity of opposing bias, most people that have strong political or other beliefs will dig further into their existing beliefs. #J201 #318

This would most likely be more of a look into if there is anything going on with that candidate, and why they’re winning. Generally posts would be attached to that, as if a certain speech goes well and the candidate gets approval, the focus would be on the speech rather than numbers #UWJ201 #318

To meet all of these standards is very difficult. These are absolutely attainable, but time and pressure from higher ups often influence and inhibits the ability to fully achieve journalism’s core values #UWJ201 #318

A very sizable chunk of the population still reads the newspaper, though it is mostly older generations. Younger generations are shifting more to digital media, which is much less affected by news deserts. #UWJ201 #318

I think, from the way you’ve phrased this, that in general people are less happy due to social media. There’s been much research on this topic, and as social media usage increases, happiness decreases (generally). #UWJ201 #318

It’s hard to tell. An important facet of this discussion is shifting attitudes on what exactly “harmful” means. It’s much easier to measure changing attitudes at a societal level than to objectively say ads today are better or worse than the past. #UWJ201 #318.

Hi there, I think that considering stereotypical imagery and marginalization has a history in our government, and recent examples show that said government still has these issues, I think the costs would outweigh the potential benefits of a government social media platform. #UWJ201 #318
