For the record, Veronica Mars was one of the impetus for Haley Brown. Sophie "Summer" MacLaren is a mix between Kristen Bell and Gwen Stacy. She loves challenges, loathes secrets. The artist @redtiebear.bsky.social asked me what drove her, "Being right or being fair?" And it was always 'Right'.

Haley Brown probably cycled through about 6 or 7 different variations. He went from Self-Insert to Punisher-esque to Batman to Spider-Man and I finally settled on kid who baby sits.

I love him, though, because he's dumb as hell. The best kind of stupid.

Hoooly shit did Duo fucking change. I don't have any drawings of him, but the (waves hands) anime levels were horrendous. Super long katana, edgy, vaguely religious finishing moves, bullshit fiction.

Now? The design sorta held, but the character is very grounded.

I wrote one story off a prompt from my middle school teacher. They gave me an A, said it was creative and I should try doing this more often. From there, Gundam Wing fan fiction to DBZ fan fiction, to forum writing contests. Once I started reading comics, it was the final connection.

This is now.
