Good suggestion, but I'm trying to avoid a toggle switch if I can help it. This will be hidden in the center console.

This is intriguing and I'd like a link to it please. The challenge is the accessory outlet I'm using is in the center console, and the fuse-box is near the passenger kick panel. I'm trying to keep all of the wires tucked away and hidden.

I'm trying to minimize my time outside tapping into existing circuits tho. The "correct" way to do this would be to rewire that 12v outlet with a relay that's triggered off of ignition, but that is probably a 3-5 hour project.

I'm looking for USB hubs that shut off when they lose USB ideally.

The "ghetto fabulous" way might be to find a relay that triggers off of 5-volts so I can use the USB-port on/off for trigger, and then wire the relay with a cigarette/12v extender.

I'm exploring a separately powered hub that allegedly turns off when it loses USB. This would probably address this if I can find one that works.

Oh wow that's disappointing. I had a very big VNV phase in college and I was debating catching him on tour this spring.

extremely rude of this post to call me out like this

Unswervingly correct on all counts, again.

This reminds me of the way people just assume kind people are easy targets.

oh no
January 15, 2026 at 7:28 PM
That's probably the most likely explanation.
January 15, 2026 at 7:04 PM
That could be. I'm not usually out driving at noon so it's possible I've just never noticed before.
