I’m excited to watch this beautiful movie. The main character reminds me of our girl, Ukiyo, who lived by her wits in rural Costa Rica before we adopted her.

DOGE reminds me of “The Ministry of Plenty” in 1984. The only people who get “plenty” are Musk, Trump, & their billionaire cronies. The rest of us…..as far as DOGE is concerned, can starve.

If you haven’t read Parable of the Sower, and Parable of the Talents by Octavia Butler, I would recommend reading them both. The first book starts in July 2024. There is a politician who promises to “make America great again”. The books, written in the 1990s, are frighteningly prescient.

If you normalize fascism, you are complicit. What would you have done in Germany in the late 1930s? I guess we’re about to find out. Please don’t normalize hate, and persecution.

Ruth Ben-Ghiat is a historian, and scholar on fascism and authoritarian leaders. I wish more people would have paid attention to her warnings before the election.
