I used to say that the belted kingfisher was my favorite bird. We had a tall flagpole near the bay and the kingfisher sat at the top, handsome and dignified as ever, then would fly over the bay and dive like a dart into the water to catch his prey.

I should have stuck to planning layouts. I built HO railroad models, part of a layout, and was building switches from scratch. Loads of parts, tools, and supplies. When I was no longer spending time on it I gave it all away to my son, who did nothing with it.

Keep in mind that roughly half of the voters chose Trump over Harris for various reasons. They can take responsibility for the outcome. But I don't feel it's helpful to rub their faces in it. Let's not stoop to insults and profanity. Let's avoid fueling the divisiveness.

Following the Kennedy assassination a post op patient wasn't eating or moving and was totally negative. She was watching Tv 24/7. With her permission the TV was turned off and she got well practically overnight.

We first saw Steller's jays and Canada Jays on 1954 when we took a trip west. For some reason I like birds with crests. One of my favorites since childhood is the kingfisher with his vest and proud demeanor.
