It should note that (contrary to certain news outlets) nowhere on this bill includes "fictional characters", nor does it allows IP holders to sue those who depicts said characters under those amendments; therefore said works are still legal in the court of Texas' laws (anime and manga included).

This "nickname" was base off of an incident where an artist (Shadman) depicts the underage daughter of a commentator (Keemstar) preforming obscene acts in digital form.

Originally aimed to curb the rise of AI deepfakes, it was extended to update the pre-existing obscenities law to include any and all visual representations: especially when it comes to caricatures within comics, animations, and softwares.

The "ShadStar" amendment is a bill that the Texas Senate unanimously passed recently that punish anyone who made (and/or possess) obscene materials of minors under the age of 18.
