Great. Trump is down to historically low approval ratings on the economist.com, below Biden and way below Obama at this stage in the presidency.

This graph adds the needed context, showing the fall in doctors’ pay, contrasted with the payments that MPs have awarded themselves.

We need comparisons with other professionals too, with NHS managers, solicitors and business, as well as comparisons with other workers

@TheBMA Retired GP/psychiatrist and BMA member here.

I find a lot of words on the BMA website, and this graph below, which is helpful, but figures always need to be put into context.

At last, the stats we have always needed, confirming what we have always known.

So what are we going to do about it?
Pour another drink?

It’s gone well beyond complaints, though we should keep sending them in.

It’s a job for Lisa Nandy. But has she got the courage?

Wow! Trump has hit -19% in his ratings. Below Obama, below Biden. Lower than his first term even. Lowest ever. The wheels are falling off his waggon bigly

We’re seeing this line a lot of late:
“Working people’s taxes go to people who don’t want to work”. Yes, malingering and benefit fraud does happen, and it’s a problem that needs fixing.

But let’s put it into context:

What an amazing, transformative improvement the Law Court graffiti experts have brought to Banksy’s piece. A certain ghostliness has been added by the “scrubbers”, recalling the times when Judges could actually say to a fellow human “you are to be taken from this place and hanged by the neck”

Fascism is fed by the migration issue.

Fascism needs a scapegoat; Jews were the scapegoat for Hitler, and migrants are the scapegoats for Trump and Farage.

We progressives may point out that there are bigger issues, but we must face up to the political fact migration concern is significant
