Educational Technologist, in HE. Father/husband. Writer. Brightonian/ex-Tokyoite. DJ/podcaster. European. Transitionist. (Occasional) Musician. Not necessarily in that order?
This is vibe policy making. As erroneous as the junk claims about ‘digital natives’.

Echoes of the need to ‘slap a bloody Union Jack’ on the bomb, after the war…

Something we can add to the list of preposterous things she says that she seems to have normalised in her own head.

My favourite critique of her is that she’s someone who pick fights in empty rooms.

Sheesh, where do you even start with ‘viewpoints’ like this?

Does that make 2025 into 1967 inside out (the ‘rise and fall of the hippies’)?

Same, same. But as someone once said, we were at least around while he was in the world, doing his thing.

Entirely possible.

‘The Government should focus on what matters, not banning companies they don’t like’.

I’d pretty much always been of the view that operating within the law was something that ‘matters’, whether any government likes that company or not. But hey, what do I know?

God, these people are just so dense!

A hat that ‘just works’, no doubt. New line in wearables, for sure.

Existential threats to your ongoing existence can have that sort of effect

Tackling the climate crisis definitely needs creative responses (like this)!

Britain went into the last one with an empire - the biggest the world had ever seen, and all that - and came out of it without one, having to cede global power to another emerging one. Just saying…

That indeed was a surprisingly long list of MPs on here. Seems likely that they’re more active on here than ‘the other place’ after all.

Am a regular listener of @ohgodwhatnow.bsky.social too, which seems to get a decent balance between light and serious.

Have you come across Runciman’s ‘Past Present Future’? I find that one can have some pretty good depth, as does Rachel Donald’s ‘Planet: Critical’. Dunt & Lynsky’s @originstorypodcast.bsky.social has it too. I listen to a fair few in the climate space too, so can also make recs if of interest.
