Irish Rail has outlined its programme for additional bike storage spaces on 29000 commuter rail cars that operate on Longford, Maynooth, M3 Parkway, Drogheda, and Dundalk Commuter services. IrishCycle.com previously covered the additional bicycle spaces, but Irish Rail outlined details of the retrofit programme this week. The company confirmed that five seats on the 29000 class of train are being removed and replaced by seven flip-up seats.

They are stating that it would divert the traffic onto our residential roads and be more congested. But I wouldn't agree that this would be the result and why not trial to check if that's the reality.

They are looking for remedies, unfortunately report just received from traffic engineer doesn't recommend those measures. So we have to convince them that this residential road is just as worthy of protecting as others.

So sad, the beautiful soul Manchán has died. I knew him, mostly from when he was a Green Party candidate in GE2016 when I also ran 😢 💔 My thoughts with his partner and family. His shared words and reflections on nature and life made our lives better.
