it’s so telling that in silo you’re led to believe the head of the government is judicial (the law) hiding behind a figurehead (the mayor), but in actuality it’s the head of IT (technology) hiding behind faith put into a fake book and acting through judicial and the mayor

so when i’m reading a 100k-word fic i can say i’m actually reading a novel? good to know.
A couple of you have asked what length an SF novel should be. Here are SFWA's guidelines for the Nebula Awards:
1. Novel: Over 40,000 words
2. Novella: 17,500 - 40,000 words
3. Novelette: 7,500 - 17,500 words
4. Short story: Under 7,500 words
