Canada is seriously dragging its feet on renewable development. The Alberta government even stepped in to block wind and solar from happening. Then they cry crocodile tears about how there isn't enough power, and claim we need nuclear.

It's hard to believe Pam Bondi is unaware that she is guaranteed to go to prison after all this.

Alberta conservative voters firmly believe both:

a) the UCP care about the affordability crisis affecting millions of Albertans; and

b) the UCP are right not to guarantee working people a wage that covers even the absolute necessities of life.

consider yourself lucky that you missed hearing about this latest far-right grifter performative outrage saga.

There were protests at the farm by the usual morons. Even RFK Jr. weighed in about how awful it was that the mean Liberals were going to cull birds infected with bird flu.

As long as isolated groups of morons who can't read a graph keep believing they have "done their own research", and craven parties like the UCP keep pretending to believe them, it will continue to get worse.

The celebration of angry idiocy is a proven winning strategy for the UCP.

But these were Conservative ostriches, so they had their heads in the sand.

L'il PP will immediately be chosen by Danielle Smith to be in charge of the "Alberta Pension Plan" or some other cushy grifter job.

But at least Jenni Byrne will be dumped out of the system; her next gig will be handing out conspiracy pamphlets at downtown transit stops.

If the Canadian federal government actually makes meaningful reductions in the power of the oligopolies that dominate Canada, that will be amazing.

I'm not particularly optimistic, but it would be a nice surprise.

They no longer even pretend to have any principles, certainly not the ones they loudly proclaimed when they were running against the NDP government. "Transparency! Accountability! Fiscal Responsibility! Grassroots democracy!" -- all tossed aside as soon as Danielle Smith got power.
November 6, 2025 at 4:51 PM
Now that the UCP is openly saying that grassroots democracy is only permissible when the UCP agrees with the grassroots, will that be enough to sway the huge immovable mass of Alberta conservative voters who seem able to forgive anything the party does?
