Because it was the only English language film on Yokohama TV last night I watched King Kong Lives 1986. I think sleeping would have been more rewarding but at least it’s another tick on the list of films I have watched. Memorable moments? None.

Watched King Kong (1976) last night. Not great but, for the time, the Academy award for visual effects looks justified. Another tick for my film knowledge but once is enough.

It is cheaper to keep people in rural and regional areas than having them migrate to the cities. The subsidy implicit in maintaining the banking system in the bush or buying Rex Airlines is an investment not a cost. And the benefits of maintaining and supporting these communities is priceless.

Residents of the NSW Southern Highlands can be relieved they will not have a plastics recycling facility in Moss Vale. However, the issue does highlight our demand for single-use packaging. Isn’t it time we revisited the recycling system with a view to re-using rather than recycling?

There’s nothing quite like a ban to spur human ingenuity. So preventing the Chinese from acquiring the most advanced Nvidia chips may have benefits if we think that the development of AI a good idea. Two or more competing methodologies by teams working in isolation will find a more robust solution.
