De Bruyne has lost some speed, but his passing's gone too and, most weirdly of all, his eye for a space and his awareness of people closing him down. It's all gone at the same time.

Bell could tackle, head and run all day, had the temperament to keep everything in perspective on top of the expected midfield highspots of vision, passing range, bravery, drive and goals. What a player he was. A cigarette paper between De Bruyne at his peak and him.
