I feel like we're spiralling rapidly towards the end of Western civillisation. I'm old - I'll probably die before the worst. But I'm terrified about the future my daughter and grand-daughter will have to live in.

So Trump & Musk now have access to the Treasury's payment system. They are literally able to steal your money. All of it. Are they going to blow it all on memecoins and exploding spaceships? Or are they going to give it to, say, Putin, in return for protection?

Turkey & Cranberry pie for lunch at the Arden Arms in #Stockport. The food there really is outstanding.

If you haven't seen Ashleigh Brilliant's "Pot Shots" before, look him up. He's... brilliant.

Context: This was originally posted on Reddit in 2019. Given that it's from the UK it was likely the bookstore's response to #Brexit but it seems even more appropriate now.

Whose dumb idea was it to call posts here "skeets"? Even Jack Dorsey hates it.
I like "bleets" better.

I read something about U2 playing a gig in #Secondlife, sometime around 2006. Being a huge fan of the band, I wanted to see them, so I signed up. Turned out, I missed them. But on my first day, someone showed me how to build a chair, and took me for a ride in a helicopter. I was hooked.
What brought you to #secondlife?

I joined after seeing it featured in an episode of CSI:NY. The had a sim inworld where you could solve a murder so I joined to do that and stayed for the friends I made.

Happy to see so many #SecondLife people here. Crazy to think I've been inworld for more than 18 years. Never kept up with any other hobby for even half that long.

Second Life peoples, please remember to help with traction on this platform with likes and especially reposts - <3

Scouring through the Second Life feeds, I notice way too much awesome quality content not getting enough attention imho, and it makes me SADNESS.

This is probably the creepiest space picture I have ever seen. "If you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you."

Braced myself for Storm Bert, cancelled outdoor activities for the day... and all we got was a typical #Manchester Saturday's amount of rain. Hope everyone else in the UK and northern Europe is safe and okay too. 🌧️🌧️

So, I've just discovered that my 2025 planner from Hemlock & Oak has shipped. And it's gonna arrive next week, whilst I am away in Scotland. Which means I'm gonna have to waste half a day off work, trekking to the Post Office to collect it. 😭

New here! I actually left Twitter years ago and recently got reminded that Bluesky exists. I'm middle-aged, #British, #LGBT+, #ADHD, currently into #history, #politics, #journaling, #notebooks, #CommonplaceBooks, #fountainpens, #writing. I don't like social media - prove me wrong! 😁
