I'm a writer, photographer, and nerd, though not necessarily in that order.

I'm also an AvGeek, enjoy tabletop games, and have spent way, way too many years in the legal field.

Good morning BlueSky! Now, I'm not saying the plane behind me for this week's #MuseumSelfie is perfect, but it is… A-10 😁
Fun fact about ours: its nose rests much higher on display than it would have in service because we only have about the last foot of its GAU-8 30mm cannon in the nose. #EASM #A10

I'm not saying it was foggy at the Museum this morning, but it's usually pretty hard to hide a 747. "Usually."

Post a bird to support @sbworkersunited.org and warn your followers not to buy Starbucks for the duration of the strike🪶

I just realized I was going off of just what I've seen depart, and assuming that it was what always happened.

Thanks for checking me!

(And here's a video of one climbing out of PDX last year)

Was looking through photos for a @fark.com photo contest, and remembered this shot of I205 going across the Columbia from Oregon to Washington.
I was flying down to San Diego on an early morning flight, and the light was just perfect for how still the river looked :-)

There's a pair of standing lenticular clouds over Mt Hood this morning, and my little phobt camera just cannot do proper justice to how stunningly beautiful they look in the sunrise's warm glow.
Also amazing to think how huge they must be too, since Mt Hood is 70(ish)miles away from Portland.

What are we thinking fam, are Sky Fae real?
Fairies who dance in the sky from cloud to cloud, tumbling twixt the falling rains, and diving with the lightning bolts?
Who laugh as they slide down a rainbow's edge, and tickle the feathers of soaring eagles; ere twinkling with the stars as they slumber?

One of the unique aspects of Kaman, as seen here on our Seasprite, is the use of trim tabs to control the blade pitch on the main rotor instead of rotating the rotor at the hub.
With the ending of the Kaman K-MAX production line in 2023, I believe it's no longer being used on any current models.

Good morning BlueSky! Today's Museum Selfie includes our SH-2F Seasprite. I dreamed of flying these as a teenager after reading Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising, but HS knee injuries sadly precluded my serving.
I still have a love of them though, so it's great having one here :-)

Hope your day gets better! I'll offer a retired 747-100 tucked away in a vineyard with a sky full of contrail :-)

When you've run your little heart out and it's nap time…

(Also love the first shot where he flicked his ear just as it snapped :-)

Reminds me of this.

Since Portland is once again in the news because of ongoing protests, I think it's important to understand the scale of what's going on, with a visual depiction of what Portland's Police Chief described a few days ago.

Today's sunrise absolutely slapped

Today's Museum selfie is a reflection from outer spaaaaaace! Well, sorta. It's me in a reflection of our full scale Sputnik replica, the first human made satellite to orbit the Earth, and official start of the Space Race.
Fittingly, it's also the start of our Space artifacts too!

Hope you're through it soon.

Hope some goofy puppy dog pics helps, even if just a little, 🤞

I really do love both reflections and shots through an opening, pretty much like a portal, so hope you enjoy these from our sunny days earlier this month :-)
